Anne Wolski Obituary

Anne Marie (Persepanko) Wolski passed away at home on October 17, 2013. She was born on June 24, 1917, in the small town of Williamstown, PA, to Andrew and Suzanne Persepanko. She was the youngest of 4 children - whose sisters included Mary, Elizabeth (Betty), and Brother Andrew. Her father succumbed to the Spanish Flu during World War I, and her mother later remarried. She acquired a large and wonderful extended family of brothers and sisters after moving to South Hadley, Massachusetts.

Anne was the daughter of a coal miner and was raised with simple and strong values - the love of humanity, traditional faith, and a deep love of Jesus Christ, as a member of the Roman Catholic Church. She was a strikingly beautiful woman, with a love of dancing and music and was much sought after for her love of life, and generosity of human spirit. She was a loyal, loving and caring person and friend. At a young age, she began working at Mt. Holyoke College and later at Worthington Pump, both located in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Anne had an amazingly sharp mind for attention to details, facts, and information that she used throughout her path in life and later her children would also inherit this admirable trait.

She met Steven P. Wolski at the age of 18, and their courtship spanned a ten year period, having been interrupted by his service in World War II. They were married August 31, 1946. Anne spent the next 23 years as a devoted Air Force wife and Mother raising a Family of three children: daughter Judy (San Diego), son Robert and his wife Cheryl (Colorado Springs, CO), and son David and his wife Allen (Ramona, CA). Anne also has one grandchild, Amber Newton and her husband Greg, and two great-grandchildren, Ava and Trevor.

After Steve retired from the Air Force in 1969 the Family settled in Colorado Springs, Colorado and built a house where Anne continued raising the Family and lived until her death. Anne and her husband were married for a total of 61 years. Anne's devotion to her family was unwavering. As a wife and mother Anne's family was her entire world and her life was dedicated to the love, care and well-being of her husband and family. She was a wonderful mother/grandmother, listener, confidante, friend, and her loyalty to those she loved knew no bounds.

The number of people she befriended over the many years is countless. Upon making acquaintance with Anne, it never took long for her kind charm and caring warm personality to win you over completely, many times without one ever knowing what hit them! She was loved by all who knew her, always had a smile for strangers, and treated everyone with respect regardless of circumstances. Her selflessness and generosity was limitless - and she believed the greatest joy was in bringing happiness to others. She will always be remembered, as an extraordinary, wonderful person, who exuded nothing but love and kindness.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, CMSgt. (retired) Steven P. Wolski, her other brothers and sisters, as well as their spouses, and other numerous cherished departed family members.

As a loving mother and wife, Anne will be forever remembered as an ultimate example of what humanity should reflect. Anne was an amazing example of patience, tolerance, and love. As a human being, the world could not have received a better gift, and we know she will be richly rewarded beyond this life along with the other loved ones who have preceded her. Mom, we will always have you in our hearts and lives as we go forward, knowing you are now in ultimate peace with our Lord Jesus Christ, surrounded by the beauty and love that was always in your own heart.

Special acknowledgement and thanks to the extraordinary caregivers that provided such tender love and care during her final days. We will always be very grateful and appreciative of your dedication.

There will be a viewing at Swan-Law Funeral Directors on Tuesday, October 22 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM and a Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 24 at 10:00AM at the Swan-Law Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Ave.

I will always remember the love Auntie Anne showered on everyone whose life she touched. She and Uncle Steve were very special and I loved them both.

God Bless you Mom, you are at peace and in God's light. Allen and I miss you terribly, but our memories of you bring comfort. You will always be in our hearts forever and until we see you again and we are all together.

You may not know it Mom, but Allen and I have so many endearing little things that we say to each other and tease each other with and they all came from you - so we hope that you don't mind. It will keep you in our hearts and minds daily.

As a note from your youngest Son Mom, I cannot begin to thank you enough for being my Mom and helping me become the man that I did. You molded and shaped the best parts of me and I don't know how to be grateful enough. Mom, know this that my life is just about as perfect as it can be, I have a wonderful loving Wife that in many ways reminds me of you and I will spend the rest of life striving to remember to do and be as you taught me to be.

Please say a special hello to Allen's Mom and let her know that Allen and I are happy.
