Lt Col Charles "Charlie" Howard Meier, Jr., 87, died May 10, 2022, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on September 16, 1934, in Hempstead, New York to Charles Howard and Millicent (Driscoll) Meier. Charles was a chemistry instructor at the United States Air Force Academy, where he graduated in the first class of 1959. He was a lifelong apiculturist, a farmer, agriculturist, chemist and served as an EL Paso County Commissioner from 1984-1988.
He is preceded in death by his two sons, Charles Meier, III and Robert Meier, III. He is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Meier of 63 years. His three children Roger, Katrina and Louis Meier, his sister and brother, Joan Mason and Louis Meier, III, his six grandchildren and his seven great grandchildren.
His services will be on May 31, 2022 at 11am, located at St Luke's Lutheran Church, 5265 N Union Blvd, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80918. Burial will be at the USAFA cemetery at 1pm directly after the service.
