Christopher Mickle Obituary

Christopher David Mickle, 61, of Broomfield, Colorado, died Sunday, October 27, 2013, after a long illness.

He was born to the late Lauren and Nannette Mickle in DeLand, Florida, in 1952. Chris was an accomplished musician, traveling as a solo act throughout the country. He started Professional Sound and Recording, Inc., (PSR) in 1986 and recorded live shows coming out of Red Rocks and venues across the country for local and national broadcast. Many of those recordings became major label releases. He won a Regional Emmy for High Country Hits and was instrumental in starting the World Concert Network which produced large concert broadcast events for Rod Stewart and Bob Dylan, among others.

Chris had also worked as a pay-per-view boxing event promoter for the cable industry. He also taught remote sound recording at University of Colorado Denver. At the time of his retirement, Chris was audio producer for Gaiam, Inc., and became an independent music producer.

Chris had many passionate interests and experiences: He pioneered electric vehicles and restored old Chrysler cars, serving as President of the regional Walter P. Chrysler Club. In his earlier years, he lived in the mountains where he worked at the Climax mine; managed a KOA campground and the Madonna Gold Mine near Monarch Pass, giving mine and jeep tours; and professionally photographed skiers on the slopes at Monarch Ski Resort.

Chris was well known for his sense of humor, quick wit, friendly and outgoing personality, entrepreneurial spirit, and attention to detail. He loved life, adventure, family, and friends, and he was a devoted father and husband.

Chris is survived by his wife, Angie Dickinson Mickle; daughter, Brooke; two step-daughters, Emily and Samantha; brother, Francis L. Mickle, Jr. (Pamela); sisters, Sharon Schulman (Robert) and Mary Higgins (Chris); four nephews; one niece; two great-nephews; and a great-niece.

A memorial service will be held 3 pm, Saturday, November 9th, at eTown Hall, 1535 Spruce Street, Boulder, Colorado.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and to MusicCares.

After all these years! I am "inspired again!"... We have come full circle to meet our Roots! Chris was my BFF and his Family is my Friends when it seemed "Impossible", that we could be "Friends"! That was not something possible given people's attitudes back then! We are a "Free People"! Who Love Each Other... or so it should be!?

I would like to say that Chris was a remarkable friend and his friendship with me will last forever - even after his passing! He was the epitome of what a "True Friend" should be... I knew when I saw the "NBN" Guitar that this was my dearly beloved best friend Chris. He and I watched that guitar being made... It was a truly unique and wonderful guitar and Chris knew how to make it sing for everybody!

My name is August Turner and Chris was my best friend in High School. I regret to find out about his passing. He was an excellent guitar player and I always enjoyed hearing him play. I still love him as much as I did back then and will miss him. I did not realize he lived so close by because I've been looking for him for years.

Chris and Angie,

I'm so sorry, I didn't find out that Chris had passed until 08 May 2014 when I looked him up to get back in touch, share some ideas, and laughs. I was on business travel when he passed. As his employee for over 10 years, he was a great mentor and friend. My heart is broken. Many blessing to you and your family.

My dear cousin will be greatly missed. When we would get together, we always had friendly sparring and teasing as we brought each other up to date from the previous meeting. What fun and laughter we shared. He loved his family very, very much and I feel the loss of his support and upbeat spirit greatly. Kim
