Raymond Hendershot Obituary

Hendershot
Raymond "Ray" Albert
Hendershot
July 2, 1948
January 12, 2026

Ray. Raymond. Sir Albert. Grandpa. G-Dawg. Great Grandpa.
But to his family: Dad.
Ray Hendershot, born in Washington D.C, to Ralph Earl Hendershot and Wilhelmina Catharine Shank, passed peacefully from dementia. While deeply missed, we know he is joyfully reunited with loved ones and welcomed with "Well done, thou good and faithful servant…"
Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and servant. He taught by example—showing integrity, loyalty, discipline, service, love, and an unwavering work ethic. His greatest joys were his family, faith, and service. He taught his children a love of travel, discovering new places and cultures. Ray and JoAnn explored nearly 100 countries and seven continents, standing in awe before the world's wonders. For Ray, travel was about shared experiences, learning, and being together.
Ray's faith guided his life. He served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to London, England, and later served as Bishop, High Councilor, Stake Presidency, Regional Public Affairs Director, and senior missionary at the Bishop's Storehouse. He strove to build relationships wherever he went.
Professionally, Ray earned a Bachelors and Masters of Accountancy from the Marriott School of Business at BYU. He earned a CPA certificate and worked in telecommunications for GTE and in business consulting as a partner and Vice President of GVNW Consulting.
An Eagle Scout, Ray devoted decades to Scouting as a leader and mentor, earning the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service. He was deeply involved in his community through civic service, and as an HOA board member.
Even in his final years, Ray's spirit shone through as he reminded everyone they were "a special person."
Ray is survived by his beloved wife, JoAnn Jaloszynski Hendershot, and his children: Richard Hendershot (Jayna), Reed Hendershot (Maria), Maren Hendershot McCrary (Joshua), Megan Guderian (Erik), Manda Bytheway (Trenton), Marta Hendershot; brothers: Robert Hendershot (Brenda) and Lee Hendershot (Ellen); 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
We wish to thank the caregivers at Pikes Peak Hospice for their loving care and kindness in his final months, days and hours.
"By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
Funeral services will be held February 6, 2026, at 11 am (viewing 10 am) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2750 Melissa Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.

Yesterday

He was truly an example of service. I enjoyed being his home teaching companion & learned a lot by the way he conducted himself. Not a month goes by when I don´t think about him while I´m contacting my ministering families. He was truly a high impact man.
