Colleen Cooper Obituary

Colleen Cooper passed away peacefully at home February 4, 2013 at the age of 77. Colleen was born April 30, 1935 in Seibert, Colorado, where she lived before moving to Colorado Springs May 1954. She married Ira Cooper May 15, 1955. Colleen leaves her husband and two daughters, Beverly Garza and Gayla (Ron) Pipkin both of Colorado Springs; sisters Betty Jones, Donna Atkins, Maxine Corcoran, Geraldine (Gene) Preston and Sheila Deuker, a brother William (Judy) Oliver, four grandchildren, Mario (Heather) Garza, Jamie (Adam) Alexander, Cody Pipkin, and Monica Garza; and three great grandsons. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Geneva Oliver, a sister Annabel Koenig, and a great grandson Mario P. Garza. Colleen was a member of the Cotipaxi church where she loved teaching Sunday school for many years while living in Coaldale. She was a linotype operator at Walter Drake she also worked at Ampex and Fillmore Veterinary Hospital during her early years in Colorado Springs. She loved her Lord and savior Jesus Christ, her family and serving all people. She was a joy to be around and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Viewing will be Thursday, February 7th from 5PM - 7PM with funeral services on Friday, February 8 at 1:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Colorado Springs. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Little Warriors Foundation, in memory of Mario P. Garza, 4150 Navajo Lane, Titusville, Florida 32976.
