Daniel Ray Dees, age 48, of Colorado Springs, was called to be with our Lord in Heaven on Monday, October 18, 2021.
He was born on April 25, 1973 in Greeley, CO and graduated from Highland High School in Ault in 1991 at which point he started his life as a hero and a legend. Shortly after graduating, he joined the U.S. Army where he served tours in Haiti and Somalia. After 6 years active duty, he continued in the U.S. Army Guard. As a guardsman, he deployed to Afghanistan (known then as 'Grandpa' since he was the old man of the group at 42 years young). He retired from the U.S. Army Guard in January 2021.
He is survived by his bride of 20 years, Niccole, who he loved so much. He is also survived by his 5 children (Gabriel, Andrea, Wyatt, Emily, and Alassandra), one grandson (Oliver). Additionally, he is survived by his parents (Fred and Allene Dees of Penrose, his sister Angela/Jason Vigil of Pueblo West, his brother Tommy/Kirsten Dees of Penrose, another sister Amy/Jason Wood of Eaton, and so many nieces and nephews that adored and looked up to their Uncle.
He was very active and was usually up for anything, he loved running, mountain biking, fixing up cars, and riding his motorcycle. He was an amazing man that enjoyed his life, had deep faith in God, and never lived with any regrets.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Pikes Peak Bikers Church, 1318 N. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, CO.

I went to school with Dan, was very sad to see this. Sorry for the late condolences, but from what I remember, he was a good man.
