He served 24 years in the US Army, first the artillery branch and then as a pilot and completed 2 tours in Korea and one in Vietnam. Upon retirement, Dad pursued a career as a businessman specializing in water and wastewater.

He and his wife of 63 years were long time residents of Colorado Springs before moving to Albany, GA.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, 3 sons 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, brothers-in law, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Putney United Methodist Church in Albany on January 23, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

LTC Ritz was a great man with a great family. I'm glad we had the opportunity to be neighbors all those years ago.
