Doyle Sturgeon Obituary

Doyle C. "Dutch" Sturgeon, 88, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016. He was born November 28, 1918 in Princeton Indiana. His

parents were the late Paul and Maude Sturgeon.

Dutch was a veteran of the US Army during World War II. He served in the army for 32 years. Dutch also worked 10 years for the Colorado Springs Park and Recreation Department after he retired from the

army. He was married

October 11, 1941 in

Flintstone, Georgia to Frances Gilmore.

He is survived by his

daughters Julie Sheriff, Susan Watson, Melissa Matt,

Melinda Gordon and a son Everett Sturgeon, a sister Priscilla Reavis, eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is

preceded in death by his wife Frances and their first son, Dutch.

A private military burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Dutch's name. Remember to share memories of Dutch with the family.

I remember Dutch for being the caretaker of the baseball diamonds. If he knew ya, you were like family and he'd do anything to help.
