Elberta Reid Obituary

Elberta Ruth Reid affectingly known as Bert 88 passed away Saturday October 11, 2014 at Columbine Chateau Assisted Living facility, Pueblo Co. where she resided.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband Russell of 65 years and daughter Rebecca Penny.

She was the loving mother to David Reid of Pueblo Co. and Russell Scott Reid of Menlo Park Calif. She is the proud grandmother of Sonnie, Kimberly, Justin, Nicholas, and great grandmother to Shane, Attie, Zachery, Alex and Madison.

Bert retired from El Paso County as supervisor of the Motor Vehicle Department after 30 years of service. Before the county she worked in the school lunch program at Queen Palmer so she could be home before and after school for her kids.

She lived an active lifestyle square and round dancing three or four nights a week. She and Russell were also active in Good Luck Sams, Bounder and Gray Wolves camping and Square Nuts dance club.

Thank you for all you gave and contributed to our lives. We love you very much from your family and friends.

A viewing will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014, from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m., with the service following at 10:00 a.m. at East United Methodist Church, 1505 E. Monument, Colorado Springs. Graveside ceremony will be at Evergreen Cemetery with a reception to follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

To Bert's family, All older members of the Gray Wolves will remember your parents with fond memories. Your dad for his information about the area and your mother for her wonderful sense of humor. They were missed when they were no longer able to camp wth us. They were valuable members of our group. Dave, didn't you camp with us at least once? God Bless. Donna Clark
