Elfriede Moore Obituary

Elfriede Knaus Moore, born in Bueches, Germany on January 28, 1927 went home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2006 in Menomonie, WI. Mrs. Moore was married to John Edwin Moore, Sr. (deceased) on December 12, 1948. She came to American in 1952 and settled in Colorado Springs in 1970 when her husband retired from the Army at Fort Carson. During her husband's military career, Mrs. Moore was a decorated volunteer for the American Red Cross and worked in many of the military hospitals where they were stationed. She also taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible school throughout the years. Mrs. Moore leaves behind six children: John E. Moore, Jr. (Gretchen Moore), Judy Roadcap (Kenneth Roadcap), Margaret Richardson (Tim Richardson), Heidy Schultz (Gary Schultz), Thomas R. Moore and Daniel Moore. She also leaves behind two sisters: Maria and Herta; and one brother, Heine. She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Hass Knaus; father, Heinrich L. Knaus; stepmother, Gretchen Knaus and three brothers: Martin, Herman and Walter. Mrs Moore was blessed to have 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral Services are pending at this time.
