Elizabeth Szabo Obituary

Elizabeth "Liz" (Collins) Szabo
January 13, 1960
March 16, 2024

Elizabeth Sue Szabo (Collins), 64, passed away on March 16th, 2024, after her third battle with cancer. Born January 13th, 1960, Elizabeth lived a deeply impactful life, and will be dearly missed by those who had the chance to know her. She made Colorado her home her entire life, but loved to travel and explore. She was caring and sarcastic, smart and funny, creative and intellectual. She loved gardening (or delegating gardening tasks to her kids), and hockey (Go Avs!). She took in and cared for animals in need, created beautiful art and curated space for the art of others. She was angry at the meanness in the world, while inspired by its beauty. She truly made the world more interesting. She was a wonderful mother, a caring daughter, and is survived by her loving and loyal partner, Tim Anderson (thank you, Tim), her heartbroken sons, Michael, Nicholas, and James, her cherished grandchildren, Katana, Dante, and Natasha, her ex-husband, Mark Szabo, and her brother, Jeffrey Collins, in addition to her chosen family and an amazing artist community. She is preceded in death by her parents, Beulah and Dabney Collins, her brother Dabney Otis Collins (Doc), her sister, Christine Collins, and her beautiful daughter, Catherine. Her family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you for the overwhelming outpouring of support and love. It is a testament to the amazing legacy she leaves behind.
