Ethlan Cross Dawson Obituary

Ethlan Elisa Cross Dawson, born in New York on September 24, 1946, to Anne Calvert Cross and Marshall Cross, died at her home in Colorado Springs at the age of 68 on November 2, 2014.

In her lifetime Lisa was a loving daughter, cousin, wife and friend. A lifelong member of Grace & St. Stephens Episcopal Church, and a regular at the Thursday Healing Service. Lisa was educated at Steele School, North Junior High, Palmer High School and was a graduate of Duke University.

After college Lisa lived in San Francisco, CA and Denver, CO, where she excelled in new car sales. When she moved back to Colorado Springs, Lisa worked at Sarkesian's, The Marco Polo Shop, at the Broadmoor selling fine oriental rugs, artwork and Indian saris about which she was extremely knowledgeable.

When Lisa married Michael Dawson, of Denver, the two moved to Park City, Utah where they enjoyed many happy years. Mr. Dawson died earlier this year.

Lisa's cheery smile, buoyant spirit and sharp intelligence will be deeply missed by her two surviving blood relatives, her cousins Kari Staubo of Oslo, Norway and Lena Staubo of Ibizza, Spain, and her many friends in both Utah and Colorado, especially in the Ma Jong and Book Clubs Lisa enjoyed so much.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, at Grace & St. Stephens Episcopal Church, with reception and interment in Grace Memorial Gardens, 601 N. Tejon St. immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Women's Educational Society of Colorado College and The Nature Conservancy.
