Ford Peters Obituary

Ford Peters Jr., 68, went to meet his Heavenly Father on September 13, 2016 in Colorado Springs surrounded by his family. He was born in Marion County, MS, on March 9, 1948, to the union of Ford and Frankie Lee (Badon) Peters.

Ford was preceded in death by his parents, Ford and Frankie; his siblings, Percy Hilton, Charles, Frank, Alberta, Lily Peters, Linda Hopkins, Alicia Young and Betty Jean Jones.

Ford retired from the United States Army after 20 years of service with the rank of 1st Sargent and received the Army Service Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, 4 bronze service stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Drill Sargent ID Badge and NCO Professional Development Ribbon 4.

Ford was a huge sports fan and his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys, he enjoyed cooking, coaching in Youth Sports, his passion was spending time with his family and friends.

Ford leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Jeweletha (Rusk) Peters; his children, Cynthia Love Peters, Portland, OR, Julius Maurice Peters, Colorado Springs, CO, Shava Williams, Waco, TX and Monique Williams, Colorado Springs, CO; his siblings, John Peters, Jayess, MS, Clifton Peters, Lorman, MS, Dorothy Cleveland, Houston, TX, and Laura Reece of Jackson, MS; Ten grandchildren and many loving friends.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday 21st at Angelus Chapel Funeral Directors, 1104 S. Circle Drive beginning at 2:00 pm with a wake starting from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. A service will be held, Thursday, September 22nd at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will be held September 27, 2016 at 1:00 PM, Wright Cemetery, Henderson, TX.
