Frances Ainsworth Obituary

Frances Haigler Ainsworth, age 89, a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs passed away on December 7, 2010 at the Emeritus at Broadmoor. She was a buyer for the retail fashion industry. Frances Jane Dilts was born in Colorado Springs on September 30, 1921. She attended Colorado Springs High School and graduated in 1943 from Colorado College. She began her career in fashion at the Lorna Lockwood Dress Shop before moving to Perkins and Shear where she was the buyer for many years. Later, Fran worked for The Broadmoor's Second Story Little Kitchen and MJ Creations. In her retired years, she served as the President of the Kissing Camels Townhome Owners Association. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, cooking and spending time with family and her many friends. She will be best remembered for her humor, never quit attitude and positive outlook on life. She is survived by her daughter: Christine (husband, David) Krall of Colorado Springs; three grandchildren: Lindsay Sanders, MD, Kathryn Krall and Abbey Graham; and her great grandchildren: Ashley and Jack. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William R. Haigler, in 1971 and her brother, Howard Dilts, in 2008. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church, 219 E. Bijou Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903. A reception will follow the services at the Church. Private interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.

My condolences to your family. Fran was a lovely, gentle person, always a lady. She loved Christy and Dave, and her 'grand-girls,' I could hear it in her voice when we spoke. I will remember Fran with a smile when I think of her, such a kind and sweet lady.
