FREDERICK "FRED" FORREST

Frederick-Fred Forrest born in Furth Germany entered heaven November 19, 2020.
He is survived by his wife Helen of 40 years, Colorado Springs, sister Sebrena of Cascade Colorado, and brother Michael of Bennington Vt.
He is predeceased by his parents Leonard and Hedwig-Heddy Forrest of Bennington, Vt. and previously of Colorado Springs.
Fred contracted polio at age 3 resulting in permanent confinement to a wheelchair.
He was a strong advocate for ADA and service dog rights. He was very active in the community.
He helped sponsor a family from Cambodia.
He taught electronics and micro electronics at Goodwill Industries and placed over 100 students in various electronics jobs at companies all over the city in the early 1980's.
He was hired by Rolm Corp/IBM in the mid 1980's bringing some of those excellent students with him.
He was a self taught computer programmer, traveled extensively, formed his own company known as Quess, Inc when IBM closed in 1989.
He owned and operated this company for over 30 years doing contact management and as a webmaster and web designer.
He acquired 4 service dogs from 1989-2019 which gave him enormous independence and devotion.
Fred was a kind, intelligent, sharing and compassionate man with everyone he came into contact with and was a devoted husband.
Services will be held at Holy Apostles Catholic Church located at 4925 N. Carefree Circle in Colorado Springs on February 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
