Gary Manter Obituary

February 23, 1956 - January 22, 2009 Gary Lee Manter left his life on this earth January 22, 2009. Those he loved and who loved him are left behind to mourn his passing, celebrate the life he lived with us and to wish him peace and joy in the one where he exists now. Gary was a spiritual man with a deep love of family and the world he inhabited. He loved to fish, camp, golf and shoot. His happiest times on earth were spent in those activities with friends and family. We will cherish those memories. Gary was a professional man as well. He traveled throughout Colorado providing top-notch service and making friends everywhere he went. His family holds firmly to the belief that Gary is still with us spiritually and that this letter to him is received in his soul. Gary, On January 22, 2009 your time with us on this earth came to an end. We mourn your death and miss you. So much to miss, so easy to be sad. Yet, we know your wish would be for us to cherish the moments we shared and to use those memories to get us through the sorrows. And all of us, we are blessed with so many memories and so many moments spent with you that span every year of your life and all the members of your family. All of our memories, whether of good times or bad, are now blessedly good possessions for we lived them together and now realize the most important thing was that we walked with you and that we will forever have that in our hearts. We will share those memories with your new grandbaby so she can come to know the grandpa she has and we will use them to guide us in our remaining time on earth. Godspeed Gary. Your suffering is over and for that we are thankful. We know you are at peace and free from the travails of life on this earth and those thoughts ease our loss. We will forever honor your life and continue to do our best on this earth until we join you in the hereafter. With love from every last one of us. Your Family

I never got to meet you, but all the pictures and stories I´ve heard, I feel like I know you. I´m 13 now, and I can´t imagine how mom (Corinne) and Titi (Erin) could have gone even a little bit of time without you, they love you so so so so much.

I never knew that going to a wedding could be so crushing. Thinking of the Daddy daughter dance I will never dance or who will possibly give me away. I am tortured each day by the things that you are missing until I realize that you're not mising them. You've got the best seat in the house. I miss you Daddy. Hope heaven is exactly what you expected and more. Love you.

WHEN I SEE A BEE, I OFTEN THINK OF THE TIME I CALLED GARY BECAUSE WE HAD BEES IN OUR WALL. WE HAD A NICE CHAT ABOUT FAMILY AND FRIENDS. OUR JIM AND GARY HAVE BEEN FRIENDS SINCE THEY WERE YOUNG IN CLAREMONT CALIFORNIA. GARY GAVE ME THE NAME OF A BEE COMPANY WHERE HE USED TO WORK HERE IN CA. THEY CAME , TOOK CARE OF THE BEE PROBLEM AND SPOKE VERY HIGHLY OF GARY.
TO GARY'S FAMILY, MAY YOUR MEMORIES OF GARY AND THE LOVE YOU SHARED ALWAYS BE A COMFORT TO YOU.

The Garden

God looked around His garden and He found an empty place. He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful He alsways takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering. He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyes, and whispered, "Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone, For part of us went with you the day God called you home.

Just reading all of the wonderful memories people have of my dad reminded me yet again of what a great person he was. We could talk on the phone for hours about nothing at all and he lived just down the road. He taught me so much about life and I hope that he knows how much I valued him. I miss you dad. Love you.

Sure will miss our long talks of fishing, philosophy, spirituality and family. It hurt so much knowing the suffering you went through, but even though you will be missed terribly, you are finally at peace. You will always be in our thoughts, prayers and hearts. Will see you soon Gary.....We Love You!

Dude, I know your with Jesus now and at peace.
Gary and I had many cool times together a couple are. Playing poker and shooting pool at the House off Garey.
We used to cruise our motorcycles on Glendora Ridge Road. We would stop to enjoy the view, smoke a cig (Winston) and just talk. On a clear day you could see Catelina Island.
One time we went to Albuquerque New mexico to deliver a motor home Gary got paid to deliver them (cool huh) we met a couple of cool chicks and spent the whole day with them down by the river. Then we hitch-hiked home it was a cool adventure.
I will carry Gary's memory with me always.

I could always count on a phone call from you every year on my birthday. You never failed me. I remember you letting me drive the Camry up Bear Valley Road at over 100 MPH and we were laughing like crazy! I remember the birthday dinner at Chevys with the giant sombreros. I miss you terribly and I always will. Thank you for being the fabulous, caring Uncle that you were. I will cherish the memories I have of you. I miss you. I love you.
Love,
Squirrel

My dad could eat a hard shell taco in one bite, he could catch the biggest fish, and create the best smiles. My dad will forever hold a special spot in my heart, one that no one else could begin to scratch. I miss him each and everyday, but I'm glad his suffering is over. He's finally home.

Gary was the best father, grandfather and father in law that a person could ever hope for. His family greatly misses and loves him.
