Had a great time visiting with Colonel Fagan and talking about the early days of the Academy which he experienced with my father. I remember being in school with his daughter Tina. My best to the family.

Fr. Fagan:

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. I remember when you were the Asst. Pastor at St. Mary Magdalene in Denver, your father purchased New American bibles for the entire junior high at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic School. I am 52 years old, and I still have that bible and read it to this day. One very simple gesture on his part--that continues to impact me. I will remember your father and the rest of your family in my prayers.

I was so sorry today to learn of Doctor Fagan's passing--I remember well his Wit and Wisdom, his Intellect and Insightfulness, his Counsel and his Kindness, his Service to the Country and the Community and the Colleges(the Air Force Academy and Colorado College) and how he made all of them and each of us a so much better world and so much better people because of his presence in our lives. His son Bill and I were classmates and friends in high school and when I returned from Vietnam years later and enrolled at Colorado College, Dr. Fagan welcomed me back and encouraged my pursuits, however much a long-shot at best they seemed. He and Mrs. Fagan welcomed me into their home on several occasions and always made sure that I knew I always had a place to go where I would be welcomed and treated like a member of the family. His letter of recommendation for my application to medical school made all the difference in the world to me at that time and is something I carry with me to this day. The memory of the many kindnesses of Dr. Fagan and his family is something I will carry with me forever.

I was saddened to hear of Gen. Fagan's death. How great that he was able to have such a long and distinguished life. I remember fondly those early years at the Academy when the grounds around Col. Fagan's quarters were legendary, when George and Bill delivered the newspapers from their motor scooter, and when we all rode the bus to to the parochial schools in town. Our parents gave us the best of childhoods, and we'll miss them as long as we're still here ourselves
