Jack Hammond Obituary

Jack Dale Hammond, 83, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on September 20, 2016 from diabetes and lung disease.

Jack graduated from Colorado Springs High School and served four years in the United States Air Force in Germany after training. Jack worked for the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph for twenty-six years, TRW, and Farmers Insurance before retiring.

Jack loved racing and owned a sprint car that he raced as often as he could. He also loved fishing in many places in Colorado. Eleven Mile was a favorite.

Jack was married to Marie Hammond on January 14, 1977.

He is survived by his wife; brother, Don Hammond; sister, Linda Griebel; stepsons, Rex (Jill) Litchfield and Rodney (Karen) Litchfield; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney D. and Mabel E. Hammond and a sister, Gail Hammond.

Memorial Service, 11:00AM, Saturday, October 29, 2016 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jack's memory to the American Diabetes Foundation.
