Jacqueline Livingston

April 29, 1960

October 26, 2021

Jacqueline Anne Livingston, a beloved mother and friend, passed away Oct. 26, 2021 at her daughter's home in Colorado Springs after more than a two year fight against brain cancer. She was 61 years old.

While Jackie's life was cut too short, she lived a full and rewarding life and was a true survivor. She was a fierce protector of her children and made an everlasting impact on countless people she served in the community.

Born April 29, 1960 in Amherst, N.Y., to James and Lucille Grice, Jackie spent summers at Buckhorn Lake in Canada, where her fondest childhood memories were made. Both of her parents died while she was still in grade school, but she made it on her own and graduated Amherst Central High School in 1978.

Jackie's adventurous spirit led her to Colorado. Dared by friends to join on a cross-country road trip, she would reach Colorado and decided to stay.

Jackie became a mother to Amanda Livingston on July 4, 1987. Eleven months later, she gave birth to a son, John Livingston.

Many remember Jackie from her time working at Patty Jewett Golf Course, Conway's Red Top and Panino's Restaurant. She went on to Kohl's before eventually going on to Air Academy Federal Credit Union, where she quickly rose to branch manager. She reached thousands of customers and changed the lives of many employees she hired. Jackie gave everyone a fair chance and pushed each individual to be a team player and become the best version of themselves.

Jackie was an avid fan of the Colorado Rockies, Denver Broncos and Air Force football. She also volunteered with groups that supported underserved children and was passionate about helping survivors of domestic violence.

In her limited free time, Jackie could be found working in her garden. In her later years, her great joys came from traveling and attending concerts with Amanda. A lifelong lover of music – from B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Billy Joel to Garth Brooks and Mumford and Sons – Jackie always sang along and tapped her foot in rhythm to the music.

Jackie lit up every room and was at the center of every conversation. She was always willing to lend a helping hand and do what she could to make someone else's life easier.

In her final years, Jackie's life was prolonged by the unwavering love and intense care provided by her daughter, Amanda. She lived to see Amanda get married and also welcome her first grandchild, George Robert Dyer, on April 3, 2021. A few months later, she welcomed her second grandchild, Jax William Livingston, on July 22, 2021.

After spending more than half of her life preparing her children for every aspect of life, Jackie was finally able to rest. She is survived by her daughter Amanda, son-in-law Daniel Dyer, and grandson, George, all of Colorado Springs; her son John, daughter-in-law Allyson Ropes and grandson Jax, all of Durango; her brother James Grice and his wife, Robin Grice, of Colorado Springs; and her nephew James Grice, of Denver, and niece Rebecca, of Buffalo, N.Y. There will be a celebration of life at a date to be determined.
