James Cardenas Obituary

James P. Cardenas, age 87, has been called to his eternal home. The good Lord determined that he had satisfied his mission here on earth, and call for him May 2, 2017.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cordelia Cardenas. They were married on May 3, 1950.

He is survived by his children; Kathy English, Nancy Middleditch, Sandra (Larry) Lingerfelt and James E. Cardenas; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He is also preceded in death by his sisters; Bernice Vasquez, Evangalina Sanchez, Olivamos King, Emelina Maes, Elevina Vasquez and brother; Richard Cardenas.

He honorably served in the U.S. Army, and retired from Civil Services at the Air Force Academy.

James loved his family and his pets. His hobbies were traveling, camping and fishing. Being an expert shot, he also loved hunting.

Visitation, 4:00PM-6:00PM, Friday, May 5, 2017 at The Springs Funeral Services ~ North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80923.

Rosary, 5:00PM, Friday, May 5, 2017 at The Springs Funeral Services ~ North.

Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00AM, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2715 East Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80909.

Interment directly after the service at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80910.

He will be greatly missed.
