I have been away from my Colorado families since 1986. My name is Brenda Ortega. I am the niece of Jim and Teresa. I an Aunt Teresa grand niece Lillie Teresa`s sister is my grandma. My memories of Jim is when taught me how to play cribbage, He one time complimented me because I learned card games really quickly, he said I had card sense. I miss playing cribbage with him.. and We used to go over to their all the time to play card games have dinner. Kind of funny I had a memory of Jim, teaching me how to save energy by only opening the refrigerator Quickly, and just getting a few things out, rather than leaving it open and get everything at once. he was always giving me tips on how to save money. I think I seen Jim and Teresa one time since I left in 86 me and my brother came to stay with them for a couple days while we visited everybody Jim and Teresa were always cordial and welcomed us to their home, I do miss them. I miss Teresa.
Sorry for your loss.

I will miss seeing you Jim. As my oldest brother you will always have so many memories in my heart.
Jim was the oldest of 10 children born to Harold (Babe) and Winnie (James) O'Dell.
He shared some of his memories of WWII with me as a cook and the sadness he felt when some of the service men did not come back.
This past year was very hard for Jim as he had lost his wife Theresa on March 17, 2013...then he died March 18, 2014.
My condolences to his daughter Athene and grandchildren as they spent many memories of family together. Sympathy to all Jim's friends, and all the other members of his large O'Dell and Jame's cousins, nephews, Aunts, and Uncles.
I am so glad we got to visit on the cell before Jim died and sad that we lived too many miles apart. My husband Randy and I will always cherish the times we spent in their home during our trips to Colorado Springs, Co.
