For decades, Jeremiah suffered with, hid, fought, tried to manage, and hoped to overcome his disease of alcoholism. Eventually, Jeremiah's body could no longer support life; he succumbed to the disease at home, alone, on the morning of December 28, 2018. He was 40 years old.
Jeremiah was brilliant, witty, thoughtful, stubborn, and tragically unable to accept the assistance required to maintain remission from his disease. Jeremiah touched those in his presence with his kind heart and generosity. It gave him great joy to help others. The excellent care he gave to his grandfather was a reflection of his deeply loving spirit.
Jeremiah lived his entire life in Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs. He graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in 1997 and attended UNC in Greeley. He is survived by those who loved him, and those whom he loved, which are many. Jeremiah loved his family, friends, everyone at Barker House, Mikey, Matt, and his coworkers at Seven Falls. He impacted countless people, of whom we may never know.
Jeremiah is grieved by his parents Kirsten and Russell; sister Cara; brother-in-law Josh; grandmother Ceil; aunts Karey, Edee, Greta, and Erika; uncles Vilem and Jeff; niece Abby; and cousins Bailey, Vilem, and Alexa. Jeremiah will always be dearly loved, deeply honored, and sorely missed.
