Jesse Moreland Obituary

Jesse R. Moreland, age 74, a longtime resident of Lake George, Colorado, passed away on May 20, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jesse was born on August 23, 1936 in Colorado Springs to the late James I. and Ida M. (Green) Moreland. He worked as a lineman and supervising foreman for the City of Colorado Springs and retired after working for the city for 36 years. He married his beloved wife, Wilma, in 1957 and spent 52 wonderful years together. Jesse was an outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and traveling. He also was a talented quilter and enjoyed collecting insulators. Jesse was a wonderful husband, a great Dad and a friend to so many. His cowboy and western spirit will live on through all that knew him. Jesse is survived by his son, Jeff Moreland (Lona); daughter, Rhonda Madsen (Joey); grandchildren, Brianna Moreland and Jessica and Joe Madsen; sister, Catherine Coleman and by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM- 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Blunt Mortuary Chapel with interment to follow at 12:30 PM at Lake George Cemetery in Lake George, Colorado. In Lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, 825 E. Pikes Peak Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
