John Skufca passed away at the age of 95 on February 28, 2023. He was born in Aspen, Colorado on August, 13, 1927 to Alice and Anton Skufca. His family moved to Mt Harris, Colorado where he attended grade school and his father worked in the Victor coal mine. In 1942 the family moved to Hayden, Colorado where John attended Hayden Union High school and graduated in 1945. He joined the Navy in the fall of 1945 at the end of World War II. After returned home in 1946, John worked in the Mt Harris Victor mine as an electrician before moving to Glenwood Springs and working in the Thompson Creek mine. In 1955, John married Mary Lou and they moved to Arvada, Colorado where he began working at Rocky Flats. He worked at Rocky Flats until retiring in 1992 during which time he completed his degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado. John enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou, his daughter, Tammy, and many nieces and nephews.
