Jonathan Pitzer Obituary
Affectionately known as "Poppy" or just "Pops" to his children and grandchildren, Jon will be missed horribly. He is survived by the love of his life Linda, his siblings Mark, Christine, and Roger and his sons Jeremy and Jon. His legacy lives on in the littlest joys in his life, his grandchildren.
Jon was born in Berkley, CA. on April 5, 1947, and was a resident of Colorado Springs for the majority of his life before retiring to Julesburg in 2005. Jon worked for the City Colorado Springs Parks and Recreation Department for 32 years and retired as Parks Superintendent in 1999. He was known to have single-handedly mowed and hand-watered every park in town, and back in those days every park, median and athletic field was green and pristine.
Jon was an avid golfer and a Board Member of the Sedgwick County Golf Association. His game continued to improve over his lifetime, though he regularly forgot to keep his head down. He nailed his first hole-in-one in 2007. Jon was known for his luck in life, which he felt was his birthright, and something to pass along to his children and grandchildren along with his loyalty to the Broncos.
Services will be held on Friday October 10th, 2014 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Julesburg CO, followed by the breaking of bread.
Memorial gifts can be made in his name to the Sedgwick County Golf Association, 610 Chestnut St. Julesburg, CO 80737.

Linda, Mark, Roger, Chris, Jae and Lil Jon,
I pray Gods' presence and love be with you in this time of loss and grieving. I am thankful for the many good memories I have of Jon. He was as close to a brother as I ever had. I even have a bebe gun scar to prove it (: . I look forward to the heavenly reunion awaiting us all.

Dear Family,
I am sad to hear of cousin John's passing, and am grieving and praying along with you all. I have many good memories of John, who though my second cousin, was like an uncle too- how good and kind he was, his laugh and playful side and love for kids, him opening up his home for family to gather and kids to play.
I send my love and a hug to each of you, along with my husband Clayton and our son Aidan.

Cousin Jon was as close as I came to having a brother. I even have a brotherly - bebe gun shot scar from a childhood incident, to prove it (: I am happy to say that I was able to share many memories with Jon and family through the years. I am happily anticipating the Pitzer reunion in heaven!!! My life was made the richer for having many good memories of untold times together. I pray our heavenly Family comfort you all....with many good, happy thoughts and memories of Jon and his touch on your lives. Gods' blessings be with you all...........Love cousin Marikay and Don

My prayers and thoughts go out to my ALL my cousins,especially Jonny, Jae, their wives and kids, Austin and Max...My Sweet Aunt Linda, Uncle Mark and Aunt Beth, Uncle Rog and Aunt Kim, and my dear Aunt Cris. Though I was not able to make it up there and be present with my family today to pay my respects and offer my love and support...I was there in spirit. I lifted us all up in prayer and will continue to do so with each day that passes. May God replace the sadness and loneliness with peace, comfort and reassurance...not only is Uncle Jon with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ but he is in good company with two beautiful angels; his daughter, Shelly and little sister, Linda(My Mama)... Some of my best memories are of all us together BBQ-ing at Uncle Jon and Aunt Linda's. Some of the best BBQ I've eaten ...good stories and the joy it brings to remember my Mom with her crazy laugh...laughing at her Brothers stories, jokes or comments. Uncle Jon will be missed greatly, but we can all rest assured that his memory will keep him alive forever. And as Luck would have it...we now have it we ALL have 3 of the best dang Guardian Angels anyone could ever ask for; smiling down on us and keeping us safe...watching over and protecting our kids just as their own. We are beyond Blessed...Rest Easy Uncle Jon... Aunt Linda and cousins Trust in the Lord be faithful and steadfast...you are in my prayers and always in my heart.
