Josephine Bruson Obituary

Josephine Marie Maglich Bruson passed away peacefully on December 25, 2010 at the age of 90. She was born February 27, 1920 to John and Mary Dobrinich Maglich in Sugar Creek, MO. In high school she acted in plays, and loved playing girls softball, tennis and bowling. In the days of "Number, please" she was a telephone operator connecting parties by plugging lines into the call board, and during WWII she sewed tents for the military. In 1944 she married hometown Army Air Corps pilot George F. Bruson, and together they had four children as the later Air Force stationed them in eight states and Japan and Germany. She served as a hospital "Gray Lady" in Japan. Jo was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker, and over the years introduced many delicious dishes to her family. Family members enjoy many pictures she delighted in painting. She loved flower gardening, rock (boulder) collecting, and watching birds flitting and splashing in her backyard birdbath. George Bruson, her husband of 66 years, predeceased her on December 15, 2010. Jo is survived by her brother Andrew Maglich, 99, and sister-in-law Virginia Maglich, both of Sugar Creek, MO; sons Michael (Daisy) and David; daughters Jane Anderson and Marian Easton; grandsons Bill Easton IV and Dave (Cathy) Easton, and Connor Bruson; greatgrandchildren Bill Easton V, Chris Easton, and Lilli Easton. A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, December 29, 2010, from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., Swan-Law Funeral Directors, with a Rosary service to follow at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, December 30, 2010, at 1:00 p.m., Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 1520 E. Yampa, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

I am so sorry about Aunt Josie's passing. I am sure she is happy to be with Uncle George. The pictures bring back good "tears" and memories for me!

Jane, Mike, David and Marian,
So sorry to hear of the loss of Aunt Josie and Uncle George. They were both such wonderful people and I have pleasant memories of our vacations out to Colorado when we were young. My heart goes out to all of you and our prayers are with you.

My most memorable moments of Aunt Josie are when I was a very young child. Uncle George, Aunt Josie and Jane were at our house, I was probably around 5, and I got to read to them. They were visibly proud of me and I'll never forget that.

The other significant moment was when dad and mom packed Anne, David and me in the car and we drove to Phoenix to see Aunt Kay, then to Disneyland, then we stopped and visited Uncle George and Aunt Josie in Colo Spgs on the way home. We got to go to the Airforce Academy and I thought it was the coolest place. Anne and I were signing "It's a Small World" the entire time we were there and we surely must have drove everyone bonkers!

You will be deeply missed!

Love,

Dear Jane,
I can't imagine what you are going through. I ache for you deeply. You have not left my mind since I heard the sad news about your dad, and now your mom, just after you lost Al. You are in my prayers constantly and on other prayer lists as well. May you feel God's presence as He holds you and strengthens you.
In deepest sympathy,
Verena
