Josephine died peacefully at Mt. St. Francis Nursing Center. She was born in New York City and grew up in Yonkers, NY. She loved school, joined clubs and was active in Girl Scouting, especially enjoying her Girl Scout Mariner troop. She was an enthusiastic skier. Josephine married Thomas Sharkey in 1952 and subsequently organized many family vacations and experiences across the USA, always filming as she went. The Sharkey family moved to Colorado Springs in 1969 and thus began her life in the West. She was an avid gardener, baker, organic food supporter and was active in her church. She is preceded in death by her beloved Tom, parents Rose and Domenick, brothers Salvatore and Domenic and grandson Thomas Michael. She is survived by her children Patricia (Jerry), Linda (Dale), Thomas (Anne) and grandchildren Thomas, Patrick, Shannon, Julia, Laura, Alexandra, Donna, Joseph and William, and numerous great grandchildren. We will dearly miss her. Funeral will be held on July 1 at 2 pm at the Shrine of Remembrance with internment at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Mt. St. Francis Nursing Center.

Linda, Patty, & Tom, we send you and the whole family our deepest condolences. You were blessed to have your mom around for so long and now she will remain a part of your life in memories, especially earlier times when she was her amazing loving self. Many blessings and much love to all of you.
