Judith Darlene ("Judy") Droddy of Colorado Springs passed away November 20, 2024. She was born in Eldon, Missouri, on August 24, 1940, to William R. Frank and Wilma Carmen (Irwin) Frank. She was a retired Civil Service Administrative Specialist, having worked for the Department of Defense, U.S. Forest Service, and Department of Veterans Affairs. She was a graduate of Elizabethtown (Kentucky) High School and McKendree University.
She was married to William Brigante from 1959 until his death in 1980. She married Jesse D. ("JD") Droddy in 1983. The couple lived in Spain for the first three years of their marriage, until his retirement from the U.S. Air Force in 1986. They settled in Colorado Springs in 2013.
Judy was known as an intelligent, loving, generous, and caring person. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marilyn Marie Frank; and one grandson, Kristopher Brigante. She is survived by her husband, JD; one sister, Sylvia Mabe of Land O Lakes, Florida; two brothers, William R. Frank, Jr. of Fairview, West Virginia, and Fred Frank of Huntsville, Alabama; one son, Jerry Brigante of Montrose, Colorado; three daughters, Sherry Azzara of Jupiter, Florida, Roberta ("Robin") Brigante of Athens, Ohio, and Dondeana Hayes of Eastaboga, Alabama; one step-daughter, Melissa Droddy of Salt Lake City, Utah; four grandchildren, Stephanie Waters of College Station, Texas, Christopher Durso of Apex, North Carolina, Treavis Poynter of Frazier Bottom, West Virginia, and Connor Brigante of Salt Lake City, Utah; one step-grandson, Gary Nuzio of Fort Collins, Colorado; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held December 4th at 10:00 A.M., preceded by visitation at 9:00 A. M. at The Springs Funeral Services North (Colorado Springs). Graveside services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Interment will be in Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
