Kyle Reid Carlson, beloved son of Kent and Carole (Hutchinson) Carlson, passed away on November 19, 2023. He was born on March 26, 1981, in Houston, Texas. After his first year as a Texan, Colorado Springs became his home.
Kyle graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School where he was a member of the tennis and baseball teams. He went on to attend and graduate from James Madison University with a degree in Computer Science. While at JMU he was a member of Alpha Kappa Lamda fraternity and attended the University of Wollongong in Australia for a semester. Later pursuing his education, he received a master's certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the University of Denver. He held various positions relating to his fields of study that required travel throughout the United States and abroad.
Kyle loved the Colorado lifestyle, being in the mountains skiing, camping, and riding ATVs. He treasured spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Kyle is survived by aunts and uncles: Alton and Tommye Carlson, Doris and Dick Alvord, and Cindy and Gary Weise; and cousins: Jane (Tom) Ponder, and Ashley (Kyle) Cirac. His cousin, Craig Alvord preceded him in death. Bear, his rescue dog, was his constant companion.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00PM, on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Broadmoor Community Church, 315 Lake Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80906.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kyle's name may be made to Broadmoor Community Church or to an animal rescue organization of choice.

Kent, Carole and family
Our hearts are saddened by the news of Kyle's passing. He excelled in the classroom, on the court and on the field. His kind demeanor and personality was a always present no matter where he was.
I will always remember his competitive nature and his natural way he lead others to be the best they could be.
From quietness comes self worth - this is Kyle.
Our sincere condolences

So saddened to learn of this news. Kyle was a great role model for me and many others who looked up to him growing up. I cherish the many memories from all the baseball and tennis seasons we shared and he was truly the ideal teammate who led by example. I can see his enormous smile now remembering when he ran onto the tennis court to lift me up after our team secured the state title. I regret I had not stayed in touch with him in recent years and know we would have had so much to connect over. I wish his family may find peace and know he touched many during his life and he will be greatly missed.

To The Carlsons, two of the kindest people I knew at The Mountain.

Thank you for the gift of Kyle, for sharing him with us for an all too brief time. His noble character is no accident. He was raised and taught beautifully.

Kyle and his teammates are young men whom I cherish. Every day, even at practice, was a gift. And Kyle´s gentle smile and patience with everyone he encountered made him our rock. He could drive himself without shoving others. That is no small gift.

Kyle, my wish for you is simple: "Into Paradise may the angels lead you."
