Larry Sarlo Obituary

Larry was born in Chicago to Carl and Vada Sarlo on December 7, 1948. He attended high school in Downers Grove, Illinois, where he was active in sports and in student government. He obtained a bachelor's degree in education from Illinois State University. In 1969, while working toward his degree, he married a nursing student, Nancy Wilkerson, with whom he lived and raised a family for nearly 32 years. In 2001, Nancy died of cancer.

Larry subsequently moved to Colorado Springs and was married to Beth Anne Howerton from 2002 until 2012. While in Colorado Springs and working as a high school teacher, Larry pursued and obtained a master's degree in education from Regis University. Over the course of his life, Larry worked as a businessman and as a teacher of high school history and social studies, in both the Chicago area and in Colorado Springs.

Nancy Wilkerson Sarlo and Carl Sarlo precede Larry in death; he is survived by Leahanne (daughter), Anthony (son), Randy (brother), and Vada (mother).

The family is requesting that donations be made out to Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation.
