Linda Visinsky, born on May 19, 1945, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on March 18, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Linda was the middle of three daughters born to Dottie and Louis Gerace. Her family moved to Houston, Texas, when she was seven years old. Outgoing and energetic, she participated in gymnastics, dance, and student government. It was at a dance class that she first met Walter, who would later become her husband. They reconnected in high school and began dating. After graduating from St. Pius X High School, Linda pursued a nursing degree at Sacred Heart Dominican College while Walter attended the Air Force Academy. They married in 1967 after completing their studies.
Embracing military life, Linda used her organizational skills to manage frequent moves across the United States and to Belgium. She poured her creativity into home projects, elaborate Halloween costumes, and birthday cakes. Linda worked as an OB/GYN nurse until the birth of her daughter Jessica, after which she dedicated herself to volunteering with the Red Cross, the Officer's Wives Club, and her daughters' schools.
The family settled in Colorado Springs in 1979 and became members of Holy Apostles Parish. After a brief assignment in Boston, they returned in 1991, where Linda became the church's office manager, a role she held for 14 years until her retirement in 2006.
Linda had a passion for travel and ensured her daughters experienced adventures across the U.S. and abroad. Even after Walter's passing in 2007, she continued exploring the world with Monica and Jessica, visiting destinations including England, France, Italy, and Portugal.
A talented artist and storyteller, Linda spent her retirement painting, reading, and studying Italian. She cherished time with family and friends and was known for her generosity and kindness.
Linda is survived by her beloved daughters, Monica and Jessica; her cherished sisters, Darleen (Bill) and Angela (Raymond); brothers-in-law John Visinsky, Bill Visinsky, Bill Bracken, and Kevin Chessher; sisters-in-law Daydee Visinsky, Janice Visinsky, Susan Bracken, and Jean Chessher; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. She is reunited in Heaven with her loving husband Walter and her parents.
Services will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 N. Carefree Circle. A rosary will begin at 10:15 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m., with lunch at the church afterward. Burial will take place at the Air Force Academy Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.

I remember that Linda was always kind, warm, and radiated bright energy. I remember those creative Halloween costumes as well!

Linda, as much as we miss you, we are happy you and Walter are together again. I met you both 63 years ago at a CYO Convention, and a year later we reconnected at the Air Force Academy and have remained close ever since, usually from a distance. You and Walt were so good together, but were both strong and independent. Sherry and I have such great memories of our times together, especially when we stayed in your home at our reunion 3 years ago. When we traded emails just a few weeks ago, you wondered when we were going to feel old. Linda, you don't ever have to, you can feel young forever now.

Linda was a wonderful and caring friend. We were neighbors for a short while in Massachusetts and continued to keep in touch. We met for lunch in 2016 and emailed every now and then. I will her friendship.
