Lindsey Bunch Obituary

The loving family of Lindsey Dee Bunch is saddened to announce that Lindsey lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on October 27, 2010. Lindsey was born October 28, 1961 in Mindenhall, England to Fina N. Bunch and Leonard A. Bunch. Lindsey is survived by his mother, Fina N. Bunch of Colorado Springs, his brother, Lee Bunch of Kansas, a sister in law, Glenda Bunch of Kansas, his sister, Julie Pickus of Boulder, his sister, Marla Schwent of Fort Collins, 5 nieces, 4 nephews, 2 great nieces, 5 great nephews, a wonderful former wife, Rose Bunch and the Aragon family. He is preceded in death by his father, Leonard Bunch and his father in law, Florencio Aragon. Lindsey was proud to have been born in England and spent some of his early years in Japan. The majority of his life was spent in beautiful Colorado Springs where he loved living on the west side under the grandeur of Pikes Peak. He graduated from Widefield High School in 1979 and briefly attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Lindsey has been a US Forest Service Hot Shot Firefighter, a Construction Framer and made a career as a commercial Journeyman Plumber/Pipefitter. Lindsey loved nature and every variety of animal on the planet. One of his favorite ways to enjoy God's beauty was via motorcycle. Lindsey was known for being caring and generous, sometimes to a fault. He was a conscientious worker and took great pride in his craft. The world was a more wonderful place with him in it. Many of us are saddened by his departure. Thankfully, he also leaves many wonderful memories to inspire and bring joy and meaning to life. Memorial services are pending and will be announced when finalized.

I have no words to express the loss of such a wonderful man. Lindsey was someone who brought the balance of good back into this world. I had lost touch with him and was shocked when this came up on my computer. Lindsey was always kind and generous to me and my sons. There was never a time that I called him that he wasn't there for me. My heart goes out to all the people that loved him and will miss him because there is no one like him that could ever take his place. May he continue to brighten our world by looking down us from above. I will miss you.

Lindsey was a great man and was a wonderful friend. It was such a shock to hear about his passing and we are deeply saddened. Heaven rejoices at the arrival of a new angel.

I didn't get to spend much time with Lindsey. I remember when our families visited Grandma's house in Tennessee at the same time one summer, he was sporting a mohawk haircut. When I brought my Dad out to Colorado for a visit a few years ago, Lindsey went out of his way to spend a little time with us and make us feel worthy of the effort. To the rest of my Colorado family, just know that you are not alone and we are thinking of you and praying for you here in Tennessee. Doug & Debbie

I never met Lindsey in person, but his cousin Douglas sent Marla's messages on to me, so I feel I knew him during his illness. This obituary, so beautifully written, makes me wish I had known him. He was a kindred spirit, and I will miss him.

I can't find the words to describe my grief, only that Lindsey was a true friend for well over 30 years and I will miss him like a brother. I too have many stories of my dear friend but they are to be told over an ice cold beer. RIP.........Frank

Wow! There is so many memories. Lindsey made me laugh too many times to list. Over the many yearsof our friendship. He opened his heart to me and my family. He never turned down a chance of finding a new adventure or to share a really good laugh. Some of my favorite times was when he actually got scared and screamed going through a Haunted House, the time we talked him into wrestling a real black bear at the State Fair, water skiing, camping, watching him try to sing like Elvis in Las Vegas, and he rode a stick horse around Joe's Crab Shack on his birthday.

Lindsey inspired Butch and I to get motorcycles. We made the purchase and started riding around the state with him every weekend. One day he was stung by a bee and he was on the side of the highway throwing his clothes off dancing around as cars were wizzing by but yes he was still laughing. We would go to Bishops Castle. On our way back one day Lindsey lost his footpeg and he rode the motorcycle all the way back with one leg up on his tank we laughed till we couldn't see any more.

Lindsey was always there for my kids he made sure they always had whatever they needed but he always wanted to make Nick share all the girls with him. They were too young but it was always a good laugh. He tried to hire a Limo one night at Old Chicago because he thought Mindy was bored and needed some excitement. Even though he never had any children I truly believed he treated my kids as his own. He was always there for them and they will miss him dearly.

There is a huge hole in my heart but I know we will be together again someday. I know I have another angel. To my friend.....goodbye
