Manuel Moya Obituary

Manuel Ernest 'Ernie' Moya passed away, unexpectedly, Tuesday, January 22, 2008, in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was born July 3, 1942, in Rock River, Wyoming, the oldest son of Frank and Faye Moya. He was a warm, loving and caring husband and father to his late devoted wife Geraldine "Gerri" Beverly Moya, and sons. He was known for his giving personality and strong inner strength. His devotion to his Faith in God was an inspiration to all who knew him. After graduating from the University of Wyoming he was commissioned as an Officer in the U.S. Army. While in the Army he earned a Masters degree in Business from Syracuse University in New York. His 24-year career in the military took him on various tours of duty, including Vietnam and the Pentagon. He retired in 1988 as a Lieutenant Colonel and will be buried with full military honors. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gerri, his parents Frank and Faye, and only sister Eliria Moya. Survivors include Ernie and Gerri's three sons, David and his wife, Kathleen, Paul and John Moya; brother Joseph Andrew Moya and his wife Sandra; grandchildren, Ashleigh, Chrissy, Hailey, Heather, Michael, Adam, and Nathan; his special friend Lorraine Tafoya, and numerous sister and bother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. A Rosary service will be held Monday January 28, 2008 at 4:00PM and the Funeral Mass on Tuesday January 29, 2008 at 10:30 a.m., both at St. Laurence O'Toole Catholic Church, in Laramie, Wyoming. There will also be a memorial service Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral in Colorado Springs, Colorado with the Very Rev. Donald F. Dunn, V.G. celebrating. Services are under the direction of Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home in Laramie, Wyoming.
