To Mike, Anne and the rest of the VanMatre clan:

Was so sorry to hear of Mark's passing; but not of how he lived his life.

The obituaries I read online (in the Muncie paper and the Gazette-Telegraph) reminded me of the kind, lighthearted guy I remember at St. Mary's High School.

Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Mark's passing is sad news to many; including those of us who knew Mark from St. Mary's High School.

He was the kind of guy that made a lasting impression.

When I think of Mark, I think "kind, caring and compassionate".

I was glad to learn that he was at peace and surrounded by family when he went home to be with our Lord.

His story is only halfway told as we will meet him again one day in heaven and we can catch up then.

Our prayers go to his family who will certainly feel the loss of someone so dear. May you also have peace.

Sometimes it seems that the kindest souls return to heaven first. Maybe they are here to show us by example, how we are supposed to love. Then they return to heaven to give us a chance to follow in their footsteps.Mark was truly one of those souls. I had never seen him be unkind or heard a cruel word leave his lips. You must all be so proud to have called him son, brother, father, uncle and friend.May God bless your beautiful family. We can all rejoice in Mark's healing!Love You!
