Mary Moe Obituary

Mary Edith Moe went home to her Lord and Savior on January 6, 2010, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Mary Edith was born on September 19, 1922, in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She married Leland D. Moe in 1946. In 1953, they relocated to Lakewood, Colorado, and in 1970 to Colorado Springs. A flat-lander by birth, Mary Edith fell immediately in love with the majesty and beauty of the Colorado mountains, where she loved to go camping and jeeping. They were active at Southside and Northeast Bible Chapels and loved serving the Lord in many ways. Mary Edith's joy and calling in life were homemaking and hospitality. She was an outstanding cook and baker, and established many cherished family traditions. She was gifted with an imaginative, playful spirit and a marvelous sense of humor that captivated all who knew her. Mary Edith instilled in her children and grandchildren her love of life, joy of family, and strength of character. Mary Edith is preceded in death by her beloved husband of over sixty years. She is survived by four children, Karen Moe, David (Terry) Moe, Brian (Anne) Moe, and Barbara (Rob) Wollen, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. We rejoice to know that she is with the Lord and that we will see her again someday. We thank the caring staff at Sunrise Assisted Living at University Park (especially the Reminiscence neighborhood) and at Odyssey Hospice for their kind and loving care of our precious mother. A memorial service will be held at Northeast Bible Chapel, 1722 McArthur Ave., Colorado Springs, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 11. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Family Life Services, 1880 So. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs, CO 80906.

Although it has been many years since I saw my Aunt "Sandy" I will miss the comfort of her presence here on Earth. She was preceded in death by my mother Jo, her younger sister, and my Uncle A.J., her older brother. My condolences to her children and the rest of the Moe clan. Cousin Beth
