Mary Stiffler Obituary

MARY ELLEN STIFFLER
May 24, 1944
March 29, 2020
Mary Ellen Stiffler went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on March 29, 2020. Born on May 24, 1944 in Maryland to the late Albert and Minnie Viola Rugemer (Luckabaugh), she was the youngest of six children, preceded in death by three brothers: Charles, Richard and Donald Rugemer, and one sister, Virginia Furry. She is survived by one sister, Janet (Jim) Singer as well as two daughters: Kelly (Joseph) Parker and Tracy (Sean) Mcelhone as well as four grandchildren: Jacob Parker, Makiah Parker, John Patrick Mcelhone and Sarah Mcelhone.
Our mother, grandmother, sister and friend loved the good things of this world-long walks in nature, the company of friends (as well as strangers), adventures from the East Coast to the West-but to those who knew her closely, we rejoice that she is now finally tasting the fullness of the inexplicable Joy of being reunited with her Savior in paradise.
She touched many lives with words of encouragement and understanding both as a professional counselor, social worker and teacher as well as a friend to many. She will be missed, but we praise our Lord that she is celebrating with all the saints gone before her- savoring the new wine, riding horses again unobstructed in the green pastures of paradise, singing (as she often reminded us she would be doing!) at the top of her lungs-free and full of pure love for the One who loved her first, knowing in Heaven the peace and joy she dreamed of here on Earth.

Mary Ellen was one of the dearest friends a person could ask for. She was the epitome of loving kindness, graciousness, and hospitality. I was fortunate to have taken a trip (my first to the west coast) to see her in California and loved every second of it. Mary Ellen introduced me to Trader Joe's (which I had never heard of!). We visited Big Bear Mountain, Ronald Reagan's library, Garden Grove Crystal Cathedral, Huntington Beach and pier, as well as some local places in Long Beach. It was because of Mary Ellen that my time in California was such an incredibly memorable one. I will always cherish the time I spent with her! I truly miss her, and wish I could give Tracey and Kelly a hug! Much love to you all.

Mary Ellen was a dear friend, from Princeton Alliance Church. We enjoyed each other's company and she welcomed me to her lovely home in California as well! I will always cherish our incredible time at many sights there, but will hold her friendship especially close to my heart. She was a one of a kind friend, a true friend, and will be incredibly missed. Heaven has gained an angel! Much love to Kelly, Tracy, and entire family. My sincerest sympathy, along with the strength, peace, and comfort that comes from our gracious God.

Will miss such a positive person, but also someone who had opinions, a glass of wine, a laugh, a hug, etc. Can't wait to have a few discussions in heaven! I'm sure, as her daughters/sons-in-law/grandchildren, you were surely blessed by her guidance and faith.

My sister will always be in my heart. I am glad she is not suffering any longer but I sure do miss her here on earth. My prayers are with her lovely daughters and their families.
