Michael Welch Obituary

Michael, I think of you so often. Your friendship and advice are still fresh in my mind. Steve and I miss your readiness to teach us. I know you are greatly missed by all those who knew you. I wish you peace always.

I'm so sorry for not staying in touch with you more closely. We had no idea that Michael had passed away until we received your Christmas letter. You, Andrew, and Taylor are in our prayers. Hoping to see you sometime soon.

Jeanne and Family - I was shocked to get the email today regarding Mike's passing. I knew of him in high school but really didn't get to know him until he became my financial advisor. Such a wonderful human being. They say wealth is not by how much money you have but by how many friends you have. And he was a very wealthy man. May this years golf tournament of the Wasson T-birds be in his memory. I know he will miss not being there. God Bless.

Jeanne, Andrew and Taylor -- I only just heard of Mike's death and would like to extend my condolences. I got to know Mike my freshman year at CC when he helped me on a project for a business class. That was the beginning of a life long friendship, one with stellar life advice as well as financial advice. The last time I saw him was when he drove over to Crested Butte to visit me for an afternoon. He was a true gentleman and will be greatly missed.

Michael was not only a financial adviser to my husband and me, but also a friend. I knew him when he was a county assessor, long before becoming a financial adviser. When I think of Michael I think of his love of his family, his love of his 280z and Maserati,the movie The Graduate,and his love of long conversations. He taught me to drive a manual transmission and how to play backgammon and there aren't many people who can beat me to this day! Michael helped make the world a better place and will be dearly missed.

Jeanne, Andrew and Taylor, our sincerest condolences to all of you. Michael will always remind in my heart. His love for life and admirable fight is something to be proud of. He spoke often of his family and how proud is was of them. A husband, father and friend will be dearly missed.

Houston. After meeting Michael, we kept in touch on sports and families weekly. I will certainly miss Michael. My last phone call and E-mail was on April 17. When I asked him about his health he said it is what it is.

My sincerest condolences to you all. I am at a loss for words, but will try nonetheless. Mike loved you all and was proud of your accomplishments and always kept me up to date at our lunch "meetings" . We will miss Michael almost as much as you will, he was a great friend to me and my Family

I will remember Michael on the pitcher's mound about throw a strike in softball. The mountains will be in the background and a warm wind at his back.

I wanted the family to know how much Michael meant to me in recent years following my husband (Milt's) death. They both talked financial issues alot and Michael was our advisor for many years. He will be missed.

Dearest Jeanne, Taylor and Andrew, it was with the deepest sadness we learned of Mike's passing. Would that we could have been there for his memorial, we could have shared in the celebration of a life well lived. So many people have been touched by his cheerful enthusiasm for life, for community, for friends and for family that his leaving us has only ignited in each of us a torch that we can use to light our own path, to live so well and so happy. No greater testimony to his achievement is the family who become his living memorial. You were all three blessed by his love and devotion - but more importantly, he was blessed by you and your love. I never knew Michael but have been friends with Jeanne since law school. I had a chance to meet Andrew & Taylor several years ago when Jeanne conducted the marriage ceremony for my wife and I in Avon, Colorado. Our familes' condolences go out to Jeanne and the children in this time of sorrow. Our prayers are with you.

Mike was a man that made an impact everywhere he went and with everyone he met. He always spoke so fondly and full of pride of his family. I will miss his humor and perspectives. My thoughts are with all of the family.

I was saddened to see the news and send my condolences to you for the loss of your wonderful husband and dad. I worked for 10 years with Mike on the Rodeo Parade and we had a great time always. I will miss him around downtown and will not forget him, his sense of humor and kind ways, ever.

He was one of my first friends when I arrived in Colorado, at Wasson, as a sophomore. We became friends at age 15 in swim class. Mike was a social hub at any gatherering: He will be sorely missed by his fellow T-Birds and his many, many friends. Michael Welch is irreplaceable.

No one was more fully engaged in the conversation than Mike, whether it was in his office or just meeting up with him on the street. We will miss his enthusiasm, warmth and smile. Our love to Jeanne and the kids.

Mike was a passionate human being, who loved and was very proud of his family. We spent many sunny lunch times and countless balmy evenings playing shuffleboard in Acacia Park in the 80"s and 90"s. A good friend who loved Colorado Springs. He will be missed by me.

We (Cowan family) grew up with Mike. Lived 2 doors away. I remember his kind smile and was always respectful to his elders. Rest In Peace Mike. You are now healed.

Michael was a friend and financial advisor who helped my three girls get through college with his investments. I was shocked when I heard the news today.

So sorry to hear about Mike's passing. Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Thinking of you Jeanne, Andrew and Taylor and Mike today and always.

How sad it was to learn of Mike's passing. We lived two doors from each other growing up. We would often sit in the front lawn and talk about life now and what the future would be like. You could always find Mike with his bicycle.
As adults he sold me my first stock. He would also invite my family to sit in the bleachers to watch the Rodeo Parade. My daughter and I helped Mike with one of the floats one year and we are reminded of that time whenever we watch the parade. I can still see his smile when he rode in the parade with Andrew by his side. He was a very proud father.
One time while visiting people who still lived on Prairie Rd. they would shre that Mike would sometimes come by to say "Hi". What a thoughtful person he was to so many and to this town.

Mikey was my closest and dearest male friend and this world will not be the same without him...but he made this world a better place for those whom he touched. God's peace and comfort to you, Jeanne, Andrew and Taylor. And to all who are mourning his absence.

Michael was not only a good investment advisor with high scruples, but more importantly, he was a caring person, not only for people of all economic positions, but for animals as well. He spent more time with my husband talking about history (of which he was very knowlegeable) than about money. He could talk lovingly about his flowers and his joy of cooking with special oils and vinegars. My husband and I and family will miss him. There will be no one to replace him in our lives. Mike was an interesting, fun person to work with. He will be sorely missed by his co-workers at Wells Fargo Advisors. May of us worked with him over 30 years and loved his quick wit and broad smiles which were his trademark. Rest in peace, Mike.
