MIRIAM JOAN HAZARD
July 28, 1936 December 1, 2020

After a hard-fought battle with Parkinson's Disease, Miriam Joan Hazard passed away on 12/1/2020 in her sleep at home. Joan is survived by her husband Gibson Hazard Jr., her sister Dianne Tinnes, her Children - Gibson Hazard III, Greg Hazard III, Stephanie Hazard, Alicia King, and Stacey Osgood.
Joan was born on July 28, 1936 in Independence, MO. Joan's father was Cassell Barrett and mother L. Miriam Barrett. She grew up with her one sister, Dianne Tinnes who resides in Alamo, CA. Joan graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School. She also attended CU Boulder and Colorado College.
Joan was active in the Colorado Springs Junior League and mentored a class for new members. Joan served God and her Community through her dedication to her church First Presbyterian Church of Colorado Springs. She was a church Deacon and taught bible study class. Joan was the family Christian Leader and the glue that kept the family together. Joan was an active athlete and once won the Ladies Tennis Singles at The Garden of the Gods Club. Joan had a passion for duplicate bridge and earned a Bronze Life Master status. Joan owned many pets and was a huge lover of all animals. Joan was very much loved and will be greatly missed.
