Myron Eichner Obituary

May 9, 1913 - December 7, 2008
The Reverend Myron Alexander Eichner entered Eternal Life on December 7, 2008, surrounded by his family. Pastor Eichner was born May 9, 1913, in Stroudsburg, PA to the Reverend Dr. Floyd Eichner and Calanthe Fritchman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Kolb, in 2007 and son, Kenneth Eichner in 2007. His parents and step-mother Helen Eichner, as well as his brother, the Reverend Orion Eichner, uncles, the Reverend Clifford Eichner and the Reverend Malcolm Eichner and cousin the Reverend David Eichner. He grew up in Stroudsburg and Philadelphia where his father was pastor of Advent Lutheran Church. Pastor Eichner is survived by his sister Miriam Doerr who lives in Coopersburg, PA. His children are Lois E. Peel, wife of the Reverend Dr. Paul R. Peel, pastor of First Lutheran Church, Colorado Springs; son, Ross Eichner and wife Wanda of Waynesboro, VA; his nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Pastor Eichner graduated from Muhlenburg College, Allentown, PA, and the Lutheran Theological Seminary, (Mt. Airy), Philidephia, PA. He observed his 70th Year of Ordination in 2008. Lutheran churches served were St. James, Chalfont, PA; Holy Trinity, Ephrata, PA; Paradise, Thomasville, PA; Christ, Oley, PA; First English, Richmond, VA; and First Lutheran, Colorado Springs, CO. A faithful servant of his Lord, Pastor Eichner will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 1515 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80907. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions in his memory to the Memorial Fund of First Lutheran Church.
