N. McClintock Obituary

N. Eugene McClintock was born at Johnston City, Illinois on August 3, 1923. He was one of three sons born to Roscoe E. McClintock and Velma B. (Becker) McClintock. He was married to Juanita M. (Doris Hoffard) on February 8, 1942. They had one son, Danny Gene McClintock and one daughter, Bonita Kay, who died in infancy. Their son, Danny Gene died on July 4, 2008. He is survived by his wife Juanita (Doris Hoffard) McClintock; his daughter in law Margaret Irene McClintock; Scott D. McClintock and his wife Traci (Steuber) McClintock; Eugene W. McClintock and his wife Kelly (Liese) McClintock and a great grandson, Jonathan Norman McClintock. He served in the 3rd Air Force during World War II. He was United Superintendent of Schools in Fulton County, Illinois from 1953-1956. He received a Doctor of Education degree in 1957. Dr. McClintock was President of Moline, Illinois Community College from 1957-1960. He was Superintendent of Centralia, Illinois High School and President of Centralia Junior College from 1960 until 1965. The Illinois Public Junior College Act was enacted in 1965 and under the leadership of Dr. McClintock; the first Junior College District in the state was organized. Dr. McClintock was the Founding President of Kaskaskia College and was President Emeritus after his retirement in 1972. Dr. McClintock was a member of the Illinois Association of School Administrators; the Illinois Association of Junior Colleges (President during 1967-1968), Marion County Education Association (President 1964-1965), and Phi Beta Kappa. Dr. McClintock joined the Johnston City, Illinois Rotary Club in 1948 and was later president of the Rotary Club. He also served as president of the Centralia Illinois Rotary Club and the North Colorado Springs Rotary Club. He was Governor of Rotary District #5470 in 1987-1988. After his retirement from the College in 1972, Dr. McClintock was appointed manager of State and Federal Property Control for the State of Illinois and the McClintocks moved to Springfield, Illinois. Upon leaving the Department of State and Federal Property Control, he was given a plaque by the Director of Administrative Services and a citation signed by the Governor and the Secretary of State. In 1977, the McClintocks moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado and established a real estate brokerage firm. The firm was a member of the Colorado Springs Board of Realtors from 1977 until 1993. Dr. McClintock served one term as chairman of the membership committee. Services will be held at the Brookdale Village at Skyline, 2365 Patriot Heights, in the Skyline Room. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Assistance League, North Colorado Springs Rotary Club or Pikes Peak Hospice.
