Nicholas Aultman Obituary

Nicholas Christian Aultman, age 21 years and nine months, passed away in his sleep on Friday morning, 7 November 2014, in his townhouse in Denver, Colorado. He was a Senior at the University of Colorado - Denver, pursuing his Bachelor's Degree in Recording Arts and planning a double major in Music Business.

Nick was born at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, on 7 February 1993, to Colonel (Ret), USA William R. Aultman and Barbara Ellen (Tison) Aultman. He spent his earliest years in Lorton, Virginia, starting elementary school in Fairfax County before moving with his parents and sister to London, England. While overseas he, with his family, was able to travel to Rome and Florence, Italy; Edinburg, Scotland; Dublin, Ireland; Paris, France; Bruges, Belgium; Munich and Garmisch, Germany; Cyprus; and many places throughout England. The Aultman family returned to Lorton, Virginia, where Nick enjoyed his Freshman and Sophomore years at South County High School before the family moved to Colorado Springs where Nick graduated from Lewis-Palmer High School in 2011 and entered the University of Colorado - Denver. His passion and happiness was music, first to play guitar and piano, then to write, and then developing his interests in concert promotion and business activities.

Nick is survived by his parents, William R. and Barbara E. Aultman of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and his sister, Sara Aultman of Seattle, Washington. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Rachel Tison of Jacksonville, Florida; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Kazuko S. Aultman of Portland, Oregon; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the United States; and Nick's friends, varied and too numerous to count.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, 15 November 2014, at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home at 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910, with funeral services at 2:00 PM. A reception will follow at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard.

Nicholas, our beloved son and brother, we listen for your unwritten melodies…

Nick was my best friend for a few years, in and just after high school. The time we got to share together was amazing. I deeply love and miss him. I still regret I couldn´t complete my eulogy at the funeral, I became overwhelmed with emotion and simply couldn´t finish. I excused myself into the lobby and then outside, listened to a couple songs just to help me cope. Music was a huge thing that brought us both together and we enjoyed so many concerts and shows with each other. I still cry when I listen to certain songs which remind me of Nick and the wonderful memories we got to share together. Gone but never forgotten - I love you bro.

I taught Nick in American History, Psychology and Geography at LP. He was a great kid and shared his musical talent with my class(es) often. My condolences to his family and friends. The world has lost a wonderful young man.
