Pamela Marks

September 16, 2021

Pam Marks was born June 6, 1947 in Ottawa, Canada to Air Marshal C. Roy Slemon and Marion P. Slemon. At 10, her family moved to Colorado Springs after her father became deputy commander of NORAD. She graduated from CSU ('69) and married Tudor Marks in 1970. In 1979 they were thrilled by the birth of their son, David. In 2011, Pam and Tudor moved to Sheridan, WY.

Pam lived a life of many parts reflecting her kind and generous heart and love of children and animals. She taught in elementary education for many years, and was dedicated all her life to nurturing a child's love of reading. Her greatest pleasure came from earning a child's smile.

Pam, Tudor and David shared many adventures, hiking, backpacking, hunting, skiing and sea kayaking. She was an endurance athlete, running numerous mountain races, and a horsewoman dedicated to learning natural and gentle ways of communication. Her irrepressible curiosity, childlike wonder, boundless empathy and contagious laughter endeared her to all who knew her. She is deeply missed and mourned by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son David, her husband Tudor, her sister Patricia Heitman, her brother David Slemon (Charlene), her niece Cathy Wilcox (Rich), her nephew David Fish (Anna), her nephew Erik Slemon (Katie) and many cousins.

Donations in Pam's memory to The Food Group WY in Sheridan are suggested. Celebrations of Pam's life are planned for the spring in Sheridan and Colorado Springs.
