Peter Michael Nelson, "Pete", a long time resident of Colorado Springs, CO passed away Tuesday, May 31 at the age of 70. Pete was born May 9, 1952 to Maria and Lawrence Nelson. He is survived by his daughter Stacey Lynn Nelson, his brother Mark S. Nelson, and his sister Barbara A. (Mark) Good, five nieces and one nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Christine Nelson. Mr. Nelson graduated from Widefield High School (class of 1970) and attended college at Pittsburg State University, where he received a BS in chemistry and a MBA. Peter worked as an accountant/financial forecaster for several firms including Kaman Sciences, Terrawest Company, RETCO, and Colorado Interstate Gas.
He was a member of the Delta Mu Delta Honor Society, National association of Accounting, and National Property Management Association. Pete enjoyed spending time with his daughter, (date night with James bond movies and their travels to Glenwood Springs), photography, being a productive member on his HOA board, and enjoying lunches with his siblings.
Interment of ashes will be done at a later date. Those wishing to donate in memory of Peter should donate to a charity of their choice.
