Richard Ryden Obituary

Richard Ryden 91, died on May 21, 2011 in Colorado Springs after a brief illness. Richard was born to Joseph and Victoria (Hoynecki) Ryden on January 25, 1920 in Evanston, IL. He served in the army Air Corps in Seattle WA, and Peterson AFB. His most vivid memory was seeing hospital ships coming in with wounded from the Pacific. He was a printer and binder for Shepard's/McGraw-Hill. He retired in 1985 from Shepard's after 35yrs. He married Claire Crawford on April 6, 1945 in Chicago. His favorite time was gathering with family and friends, fishing, camping, traveling, Rockies, Broncos, Sky Sox and Air Force hockey and football. He was preceded in death by his wife Claire. He is survived by sons - Brian (Gonie), David (Regina) and daughter Gale all of Colorado Springs. His sister Adrienne Horvath of Highland, IN. Grandchildren - Alex, Jessica, Scott, several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the care given to Richard by emergency responders, medical personnel and the kindness of strangers. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday May 26, 2011 at 10:00 am, Mountain View Mortuary. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to any Dog Rescue Organization.
