Survived by Jaime, three children, Joel (Lisa), Gino, and Alayna; mother, Vicki Valdez; father, Lou Valdez; stepmother, Rebecca Wesley brother, Jeremy; sister, Marissa Malloy (Tom); step-sisters, Jennifer Ruzich and Emily Lawrence; grandmothers, Adeline Valdez and Vera Christman, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Predeceased by grandfathers, Leo Valdez and Don Christman.
Graduate of Mitchell High School and Colorado Institute of Art.
Funeral service to be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Grace and St. Stephen Episcopal Church, 601 N. Tejon, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made for Richards children through Grace and St. Stephen Episcopal Church.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Wonderful pictures that stir up so much emotion and fond memories. A life lost too suddenly. Too young. May we see you again, Richard.
For your dear children (my precious niece and nephews), may God comfort your young hearts as you mourn the loss of your daddy. Know you were loved by him and you are loved so much by your family!
