Robert W. Richey, age 89, passed away on June 24, 2019 at his home in Colorado Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on July 13th at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Colorado Springs. A small lunch will be offered after the service at the church. Robert was born in Bellingham WA to Harry and Margaret (McDonald) Richey on Aug 7, 1929. He went to Ballard High School at Seattle, WA. He graduated from the University of Washington with a BSEE. While there he was a proud member of the Husky Crew (Rowing team, was coached by Al Ulbrickson of The Boys in the Boat fame). He married Ruth on Valentine's Day in Fort Wayne, IN. He worked in sales and marketing for General Electric. He held executive positions at Marathon Electric and Reliance Electric. He served as General Manager for several Exxon companies including Mankato Manufacturing and Federal Pacific Electric. He was also President and a sales agent at Carolantic Realty (NAI-Carolantic).
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jim, and his great-granddaughter, Grace.
Robert is survived by his wife, his brother, Bill, his two sisters, Janet and Margaret, his four children and their spouses: David and Gayle, Elise and Jeff, Ellen, Tim and Jenny, his ten grandchildren and 3 spouses: Kevin and Aileen, Bryan and Danielle, Blair and Lucia, Elizabeth, Grant, Sarah, Matthew, Patrick, Jack, Piper and his three great grandchildren: Leo, Noble and Violet.
Robert was a larger than life personality, was very committed to his family at-large. He was the family patriarch. He was much loved and will be greatly missed.
