An Ode to Our Beloved South Jr. High School Classmate
--Roger Foster…This One’s for YOU:
***
Remember when you were crowned "King" ... and
Now, You’ve traded a "prom crown"
For your own set of wings…
You came to South Jr. High in
“The Springs”…
Now you’re with OUR Heavenly Father—Supreme.
We could always hear your “hearty” laugh – near & far;
Always such a positive person --
A SUPER athlete & track star!
***
Now, as your family & friends, we MUST believe…
That, if indeed it was “your time” to leave --
That your Loving, Heavenly Father up above...
Was “ready” to show you face-to-face --
His 100% Unconditional, Genuine Love!
The Lord said, “Roger, I KNOW you’ve been weary,
worn & tired, for a while…”
Come on HOME, now…
Come on, my child…
No more pain, weeping,
weariness or grief!
Come & Rest… Dear, dear Roger, Rest on in Peace!

To You…From My Heart,

Hayward Montgomery

I have to share my Roger Foster story. Some things mark your life forever and it happened to be the summer of 1973 in the good ol SBL(summer basketball league) at Palmer:
Our team was the "knicks" and the star of that team was Roger Foster.
We won the championship, he was MVP of the league, and I can honestly say that the only reason I made the allstar team that year was because of Roger Foster! He certainly made everyone around him better! Thanks "Rog" and peace to you and your family!

This is a devastating loss to me personally. Roger was like a brother to me and so many others in our neighborhood. Although we all had our battles on and off the field, we always seemed to forget them once the battle was over. Roger was a fierce competitor that drove us all to go that extra yard. I thank Roger for his competitive spirit that pushed me to win more battles than I lost.

Rest in Peace,

Love,

Tony

I am saddened by the passing of Roger. We attended junior and senior high school together. He was a super athlete and willing to help others become almost as good as he. Roger loved to laugh all the time. He would tell funny jokes and tease people to make them smile. I pray his daughters and family receives the peace and compassion that God can give during their time of sorrow.

I was saddened to hear of Roger's untimely passing.
May Roger find peace within the Winds and the Heavens. If there is one thing I know for sure, I know he loved his daughters.

It brought great sadness to my spirit when I learned of Roger's passing. As a life long friend, I remember our quest as young men trying to find our way thought life. Roger was always a fierce competitor and a true friend. Although many of us may have move on to live life in different places, there is a special bond among true friends. Roger was a part of a very special circle of people and friends and will never be forgotten. But, we will miss you my BROTHER.

It is with sadness I read of Roger's passing.I was acquainted with Roger as his science teacher at South Junior High. Roger formed a close bond with me and I was able to know Roger on a more personal level when he, his buddy, Larry, and I went into the mountains fishing many times. Roger was an amazing athlete and remember having he and a couple of his friends sign up and getting involved with Junior Olympics. I took Roger and two friends to state competition in Boulder where they came home with several ribbons. I know Roger will be missed by his family and friends. Being out of state, I will be unable to attend his memorial service.
