Roger Hathaway Obituary

Roger Hathaway, a Colorado-born musician and piano technician, died peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the second son of notable Woodland Park, Colorado sculptor and furniture maker, Paul Robert Hathaway.

Upon graduating from high school in 1959, Hathaway joined the U.S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Cusk. He married Beth Cocking in 1965, and had two sons, Nathaniel and Barry.

After earning a music degree, Hathaway taught orchestra in public high schools 1971 to 1978, and then moved back to Woodland Park in 1979 after piano technician training.

Hathaway divorced in 1986, and moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico. He married Peggy Abbott in 1992. He grew a successful piano tuning and repair business in the Santa Fe region, and enjoyed local and world travel.

Hathaway is survived by older brother, Paul, and two sisters, Diane and Lynne, his wife, Peggy Abbott, first wife, Beth, and two sons, Nate and Barry, as well as step children and grandchildren.

There is a gathering to celebrate Dad's life at his home on Saturday, January 28 @ 10am-3pm. 810 Camino Zozobra Santa Fe, NM. Contact is Nate Hathaway @ 719-310-5315.

I was a friend of his father, and I met Roger one time there in Woodland Park. A wonderful family, Deepest sympathies.
