Thomas Robertson Obituary

Robertson
Thomas Robertson
June 24, 2023

Thomas Edward Robertson was born on September 4th, 1961 to Jim and Diane Robertson. In his adolescent years, Tom could often be found stirring up mischief and having fun alongside his sister, Tammy, and brother, Mike. Tom prided himself in being a loyal and loving brother, and will be greatly missed by his siblings.
Tom was a devoted and passionate educator for many years. His ability to adapt and empathize with his students left a positive impact on so many young lives. Tom served as a fundamental pillar amongst his school communities, enriching everyone around him and always lighting up a room with his smile.
Tom was widely known to be a jokester and prankster, who could cultivate a good laugh from even the most muted of individuals. At his core, he was a truly passionate individual who cared about everyone he ever met. Tom was always the first person to offer a helping hand, be a listening ear, or silent supporter to anyone in need, without hesitation. To know Tom was to know a loving, comical and genuine soul.
When he wasn't fighting off squirrels from his plants with the help of his many canine companions, you could always find Tom spending his time around the house in a pair of comfy socks and a flannel shirt. His love for nature, plants, and animals was abundant, and he always prided himself on being a crazy plant dad.
Tom left this world far too early on June 24th, 2023 at the age of 61.
Tom is survived by his sister, Tammy, brother, Mike, son, Ethan, two daughters, Caitlin and Karalyn, three grandchildren, Elijah, Judah and Ella, and his many grand-dogs.
Dad- We will miss the early morning coffee chats and cheering on the Yankees with you! Your impact as an educator, son, brother, father, grandfather and friend will forever live on with us. Because of you, we are all better people. We love you.

I had Mr Robertson in my first grade year, before I got to his class I absolutely 100 percent hated school because of the year I had before, he helped me find my passion for writing and my love for education. I also got my nickname Miller from him witch still sticks will me till this day. Even long after I was in his class I'd still send him stories that I'd write. He changed my life in many ways. His class was always fun and id wake up and be so exited to see him. He helped me find how smart I was and was always there when I needed a listening ear. I remember one year I wrote him a story for Valentine's Day about Roger and Jessica rabbit. He really honestly did have an impact on my life. I am truly greatful I got to have him as a teacher and how much he helped me threw school. It's heartbreaking to know he's gone. I'm very glad I got to spend the time that I did with him. Even though he's no longer here every time I write I always think of him. I'm very sorry for your loss. My dearest prayers go out to you . May he rest in peace.

I am so grateful for the friendship that I shared with Tom. Bailey very much loved her friend too! Some of my best memories are of him coming to spend after school time with our Girl's Club and the girls exclaiming, "Boy alert!" as he came in the room and always being so glad that he was there. He willingly pitched in on whatever project we had going. Tom truly cared about his students and they knew that. Giving his time, his kindness, and always being willing to listen were his gifts and how he will be remembered.
We will never meet anyone again who could get so much "prank mileage" out of a bag of plastic cockroaches! Who knows how many are yet to be found?!
Rest well, my friend.

Tom was an amazing teacher and friend. His love of nature and all it's creatures except squirrels , which I share with him. Tom made everyone feel special and when not putting plastic cockroaches in every thing in our classroom, volunteered to help anyone anytime. His smile was infectious and how he connected with students legendary.I became a teacher after being inspired by Tom and others from the Bates bunch showed me teaching was about relationship first and the learning will happen through kindness, hard work, and compassion for all. Prayers for his family.

A prankster for sure! I just found a frog taped under one of my posters outside of my room this spring, and I'm sure there are still plastic cockroaches somewhere! He was a inspirational teammate. He truly loved his students! He always took the extra time to listen to them and give them support for things going on in their lives! Sending prayers to your family.
