Each time i think of Toshi i think of the time when i was 5 years old and she was teaching me Higasa-Odori at the Colorado Okinawa Kenjinkai picnic and the time Toshi and my Grandma danced Rappa-Bushi in 2011 and 2014. She was like my second grandma and i will never forget her wonderful bright personality! Rest in peace Toshi.

I am so sorry to hear of Ms Toshi's passing! I worked with Ms Toshi for almost 7 years at the CDC. She taught me how to make the best teriyaki chicken! Always a joy to work with! Always a smile for all, especially the children! God has surely smiled on her as He called her home! May God bless her family and all who loved her. Ms. Toshi will be missed. ❤❤

When I think of Ms. Toshi the verse Phil 2:15b-16 comes to mind
...among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain. She let her BIG light shine out of her little body. Her life made a difference! Now she is making Heaven a little brighter. We will miss her!

As a neighbor for decades I remember Toshi as always being warm and friendly. My two older children, Kate and George, were the same ages as Shauna and Ervin, and also knew Toshi through them. My children always spoke of how nice she was, and I agreed with them 100%. Our loss is Heaven's gain. Rest in peace, Toshi, and heartfelt condolences to the family. Frances Smith

We knew Toshi for over 30 years. It was a joy to be in her company and you always felt better after talking to and being with her. Our last conversation was January 6th. Could not get through on her birthday. Talked for 47 minutes and 45 seconds. That's from Camella's phone where her contact name was Tiny Sister.
Lots of precious memories: 4th of July when Toshi would disappear and slip into a bedroom, take a nap and then at 10 PM be making egg rolls; Camella and her going through the Cheesecake Factory revolving door took them about a minute and they were laughing the entire time; hanging door knockers and waiting for Toshi to catch up; sitting at a restaurant and watching her pick at food she would eventually put in a napkin and take home. I could go on and on and so could anyone else who knew her.
She had a great love for children because she was a child at heart. We will miss that childlike spirit and long for the day when we will again see our Tiny Sister. We pray for her family and those who mourn her passing.

Miss Toshi never met a child she didn't love, and our three kids were no exception. Even though they are now 18, 21, and 23, she still holds a special place in their hearts. We feel honored to have known her and are thankful we have the Blessed Hope that we will see her again.

My husband and I attended the same church as Mrs Toshi, she would always make an effort to speak to me. She was one of the kindest, sweetest, ladies I ever had the pleasure of knowing. Heaven just gained a beautiful soul, we'll be praying for her family.

I could never forget Miss Toshi. She was my daycare provider growing up and I was lucky to have younger brothers that she cared for too, so she was around for all of my childhood. I remember her always greeting me with the warmest of smiles and the softest of hugs. I know she was loved and valued by many; she will be missed.

Toshi was always a fun person. I called her "Party Animal" and she would say "I'm getting warmed up now . . ." She would follow that with a little dance step.

Ms. Toshi was a wonderful caregiver to my son, and later a wonderful co-worker for me. She gave her heart and soul to her CYSS kids and made many wonderful memories for so many children for decades. Praying for strength for her family, whom she loved with all her heart!

We have known Miss Toshi since about 2003. She was such a blessing to our family and our church. We will see her again, when we pass from this life to the next (Heaven). She was one of the most loving and kind ladies I know. She will be missed by many. May God comfort her family in her absence. Respectfully,

Ms. Toshi was definitely one of the most amazingly happy and uplifting spirits that both my husband and I had the blessing of knowing. She was ALWAYS so positive and made us smile, even when we had faced some of the most difficult times together. We want to say thank you to the family for blessing us with your phenomenal mother who always made us feel loved. We are so sorry for the loss of such a warm and caring person. WE LOVE YOU, Ms. Toshi! The Botz and Avery family will forever adore and love you. We are already missing you. Love, the Botz and Avery families

I send my prayers and condolences to her family. It was an Honor to have known Mrs. Toshi. I met her during my late childhood when she was one of my sibling's teachers, my mother's (Myrna) co-worker, to a family friend/neighbor down the road from where we lived, and then to a fellow CYS co-worker. She was a great and genuine woman! Rest in peace Mrs.Toshi you are going to be missed by many!!

I worked with Ms. Toshi for a few years at CYS. She was such a kind person, and she genuinely loved the children in her care. I loved hearing stories of her childhood, and her reasoning as to her stature (carrying rice on her back as a child stunted her growth, which was always said with a smile...). She invited my son and I to a cultural festival that she was dancing in one time. It was a lovely festival and it was awesome to see Toshi participate in traditional dances. I captured a lovely image of her at that festival. My son and I will both truly miss Toshi and send our thoughts and prayers to her family and friends.
